Whoa! It's the big $7,000!
Yep, it's true! I finally hit 7,000 this week! Only 29,000 more to go...hahaha only...right. Well I think I've finally figured out a way to get the money I need to finish it off:
I'm going to make a scale model of the harp I want. I'll get a picture and blow it up to actual size and attach it to some foam core, cardboard, etc. Then I'll put price tags on things, such as the 7 pedals, the 47 strings 1/2 of the column, etc. and have people purchase parts of my harp for me. Once they "purchase" them I'll make each person a little certificate saying, "So-and-so bought 5 strings for Hannah's harp on this date. Thank you for your support!" Just for a little memento and to say that they kind of own that part of my harp.
Then I'll print up the Top 10 Reasons that I want a new harp and have that displayed at church. However many Sundays I do this, I'll get up in front of each service and inform people of the progress and to thank them for their continued support. Once I get the harp, I'll do a 'thank-you' concert for the church.
Praise God for this idea!!
Hopefully things can get rolling now!

HOORAY! I'M ONE STEP CLOSER!
Well I've gotten permission to fundraise through the church. I went to the Board Meeting on Monday and gave them a speech. I've been allowed to fundraise for the next 6 months...however I think they may have misunderstood me...I will not place the order for the harp until I have all the money and one I order it, it will take 6 months to be delivered. So I'm not quite sure how all this will work.
At least I have a way to get the money now! In the three years that I've been saving money, I've only saved $3,600 and at the rate I was going with that, I'm just afraid that I wouldn't have been able to get the money before my 50s...
More ideas to fundraise...
Well that's all for now! I'll update later on money, more plans to fundraise, and concert/auction/whatever dates!
Thanks!

Yay! Harp stuff!
Wow my first post! How exciting.
I thought that maybe this blog I had to make for school would be a good way to market myself and let people know what I'm trying to do.
Well I'm trying to raise money to buy a new harp...it's going to cost around $36,000 and I have just over $3,200 saved now...so I've got a long way to go!
I know I can pull all the money together eventually, it's just going to take some work and a lot of fundraising to get the harp I want. Go to http://www.lyonhealy.com/pedal-salzedo.htm to see the harp and the details about it. The only difference is that I hope to get the harp in an ebony finish instead of the natural one...I think the red, silver, and black would be a lot prettier than just plain old natural wood.

Fundraising Ideas
- Car Wash
- Fundraising through my church (SSCC)
- Normal gigs such as parties, weddings, funerals, corporate events, etc.
- Selling candy bars at my dad's store
- Bake sale
- Adsense with Google (click the advertisements, please!)
- ???
I need a few more ideas and I really just need to get some of them going a little more. I already sell candy bars at my dad's store and do normal gigs every once in a while.
So anyway, I just wanted to start letting people know my goal of getting a new harp! More later!
